Chef No Tell
I like to call this ground turkey vegetable recipe my “Chef No Tell” recipe too. It is one of my favorite meals to make and eat. When I can’t make up my mind about what meal I want to prepare, I usually turn to this meal. I often make it on Sunday for my lunches for the week.
First of all, why do I call this meal “Chef No Tell”" Well, there is no telling what will end up in it! It’s a great healthy meal to prepare when you need to use up some veggies you’ve got left over from the week. It is also very versatile in that you can eat it with tortilla chips, use it as taco filling or put it in between your buns (I mean two buns. Martha Stewart would never do that!).
Ingredients for Healthy Ground Turkey Vegetable Recipe and your grocery list on Path Me Food:
1 lb of ground turkey or beef
1 can of Black Beans (I don’t drain the beans because the juice becomes a nice tasty gravy for the dish)
1 can of Rotel (drained)
1 can of Corn (drained)
1 Yellow Squash chopped into bit size
Directions: Over medium heat, cook your ground turkey or beef until all grease has evaporated or you have drained it. Stir in all the other ingredients into the skillet, mixing up all the ingredients evenly. Put a lid on the skillet and lower the heat between simmer and medium heat. I like to stir it every 10 or 15 minutes. It is done when the squash (or any other vegetables you have added) is steamed.
This is the “No Tell” part……you can add just about anything you like into this meal. In the past I have added stuff like:
1 zucchini (adds nice color)
jalapenos and juice from the jar (adds some heat)
quinoa (added protein)...
