Hot, sultry summer days and nights go hand in hand with a Tom Collins; perfectly! Every time, I enjoy one, I feel as if I am splashing my toes in a pool while enjoying the sunshine on my face. Puts a smile on my face, most definitely. This refreshing cocktail has become my favorite go-to when dining out this summer, so much so, that I started making them at home.
Do not use a mix for making this cocktail. Trust us. A Tom Collins is one of the easier cocktails to make, and I bet you already have the ingredients at home. The key is a good gin. We are fans of St. George Spirits, and enjoy using the Terroir Gin with this recipe. This particular gin has highlights of sage, and Douglas fir, kind of the forest. It is bright and refreshing, perfect for a hot summer day.
Couple tips for making gin cocktails:
Don’t fill the glass with regular ice cubes after shaking. Make your cocktail extra special with these ice cubes.
Don’t use club soda, instead invest in a Soda Stream and make your own bubbly water.
Garnish for festive fun.
