Ingredients:

  • 1 pound chicken breasts, cut into cubes

  • 1 refrigerated pie crust

Preparation:

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Step 2: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sausage and cook until browned, stirring occasionally.

Step 3: Remove the chicken and sausage from the skillet and set them aside. Add the diced onions to the same skillet and cook until they are translucent.

Step 4: Add the flour, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to the skillet and stir until the mixture is smooth. Cook for about a minute.

Step 5: Slowly add the chicken broth to the skillet, stirring constantly to prevent any lumps from forming. Add the milk and stir again.

Step 6: Cook the mixture until it thickens, this should take about 5 minutes.

Step 7: Remove the skillet from heat and add the chicken and sausage back in. Mix them with the mixture until combined.

Step 8: Unroll the pie crust and place it in a greased 9-inch pie dish.

Step 9: Pour the chicken and sausage mixture into the pie dish.

Step 10: Roll out the remaining pie crust and place it on top of the chicken and sausage mixture.

Step 11: Trim the excess dough around the edges of the pie dish and make a few slits on the top of the pie.

Step 12: Bake the pie for about 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.

Step 13: Let the pie cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
