Howdy doody folks!
Hope you’re having a good summer or winter or whatever you’ve got going on. We’re in the middle of a Dubai summer which is hot as hell. I clocked 121°F (49.5°C) on my car thermometer the other day. And it sometimes gets even hotter than that!
Perfect time to get out of dodge and go to South Africa during winter. Which is what we’re up to in August! Can’t wait.
July was a rather trying month for me I’ll be honest. I got REALLY sick with a bacterial infection that felt like it was trying to kill me. I have not been so sick in years. I found myself in the ER hooked up to a drip and painkillers and all kinds of things and they ran some tests and diagnosed me with this bacterial infection which they thought might have come from something I ate.
They then send me home with a bunch of antibiotics telling me it’ll all be over in 48 hours. Well, I misread the situation entirely. I thought they meant, ‘the worst is over – go home and you’ll continue to recover and within 48 hours you’ll be right as rain’. Oh no, this is not what they meant at all.
The worst hadn’t even begun! It began almost as soon as I left the hospital. The car ride home was torture and I then embarked on the worst experience of my life. Well, one of them.
While unbelievably ill, with extreme nausea, horrific abdominal pain and all sorts going on, unable to keep anything down, so sickened at even the idea of food that just hearing Jaye use the toaster in the kitchen made me retch, I had to contemplate these antibiotics they had given me. All of them needed to be taken with food! With food! HOW do you give someone who can’t keep anything down a pill that needs to be taken with food" I tried to eat half a slice of dry toast to get one down. No way. Body said no thanks.
